I will never forget the first time Gemma took me home to meet the parents.

It was a saturday night , Doreen and Sitch were sitting watching saturday night tv In thier matching white dressing gowns and slippers. Although I was secretly petrified, I walked in and was pleasantly welcomed.  It was like sitting in front of Alan Sugar and Karen Brady as they smoked and gave me the full shake down to ensure I was good enough for their daughter!

As hard as Doreen was, her love for people and her family was greater. Over the years, I have had so many happy memories with Doreen that i will treasure forever. She truly was one of a kind and I am so grateful that she was my mother in law.x
